Complex automation cabinets for robots
With over 200 years of industrial history, Valmet is the leading global developer and supplier of technology, automation and services for the pulp, paper and energy industries.
For the utility industry, Valmet has developed a product called Smelt Spout Robot. The robot is installed in a utility soda boiler where it automates the dangerous job of cleaning troughs – a job it can perform 24 hours / day.
– We have ten such robots in operation, throughout the world, and have been developing them for a long time to make them work optimally in these kind of environments. Now it has become a standard product on the market and our latest robot (see pictures) is moving into a new factory in Chile. Here BS Elcontrol, is a complete partner to Valmet and has developed automation cabinets for the robot, a very complex design.
For several years, BS Elcontrol has been making electrical cabinets for us, including nine of our running robots – where they both designed and built the automation cabinets. The collaboration works great; they know what we want and we know the price range. In addition, we have a comfortably close distance between our offices, says Fredrik Eriksson at Valmet.
